Cold Flame are one of the most exciting, energetic, dedicated and original classic rock bands performing live music today. Formed in November 1984 and based in Glossop, Derbyshire – the band have established themselves, over the years, as one of the most hardworking and innovative bands on the circuit playing all over England and also more recently in Europe whilst releasing a number of acclaimed original studio and live albums all of which remain available see details elsewhere on the band website. Since 1999, Cold Flame have successfully performed their renowned Jethro Tull tribute shows and the band are now acknowledged as the premier Jethro Tull tribute in the midlands and north of England. Additionally the band’s original blend of classic rock blues and acoustic music continues to impress the music media attracting radio airplay both in the UK and overseas and inevitably sales throughout the world.
Cold Flame today represent a wealth of live and studio experience covering more than two decades i.e. past and present members of the band have played and recorded with seminal cult rock group Janus who gained several gold and platinum album awards in the 1970's on Harvest Records throughout Europe. Bassist and founder member Patrick has recorded two solo albums of original material to date as has flautist Peter. Members of the band have been featured on Sky and terrestrial T.V. music specials, gigged with members of the River Dance troupe and also played alongside ex-10cc and Tull drummer Paul Burgess. The Tull link has gone even further with the band playing with Clive Bunker, Mick Abrahams and most recently violinist Anna Phoebe. Apart from headlining indoor and outdoor venues across the country, Cold Flame have over the last few years supported many of the top rock and blues acts in the country including Wild Turkey, Blodwyn Pig, Uriah Heep, Osibisa, Solstice and Hawkwind.
During the last few years, the band have played many of the premier venues around the country as well as many outdoor events during this time both as a headlining act or support act to many well known premier rock and blues bands. They have also been equally at home in the more intimate atmosphere of the many regional public houses still promoting live music. For the last few years the members of Cold Flame have both individually and collectively featured and been responsible for major public and private functions throughout the Midlands and the North of England working alongside some of the top music promoters in the U.K. to guarantee successful shows and satisfied customers. Clients have included High Peak, Manchester, Oldham and Tameside Councils, Barnardos Charities, Christie’s Hospital, Manchester Airport, The Army and Territorial Army, Leicester City F.C, Salford Rugby League Club, Marie Curie Cancer Research..... These bookings have given the band the opportunity to support both regional and national charity campaigns and Cold Flame are very proud of their ongoing support in this area which has realized thousands of pounds for these same worthy causes.
Cold Flame are available for all manner of private functions including weddings, anniversaries, parties, celebrations, bar mitzvahs and wakes. In both public or private performance whether the venue is large or small, indoor or outdoor, hotel, pub or club, the band guarantee quality performance where the audience always come first.

THE ACOUSTIC BAND In 2005 the chaps finally gave in to requests from within and outside the band to fully highlight the band's acoustic and light electric material. The result was the formation of an occasional splinter group - Cold Flame Acoustic sans drums and keyboards featuring members of the band and Paul Newland on violin, mandolin and vocals - sometimes this format also features local guest musicians. In addition to the original music being performed by CFA the chaps perform music by Tull, Fairport Convention, Del Amitri and Richard Thompson in their always lively performances.
THE FLAME FAMILY Whilst the band have had several line up changes over the years, some of the band’s ex members just cannot keep away. Original Flame lead guitarist David Conner now living near Leicester when not playing with his own band The Granite Project, guests with Flame at regular intervals as does drummer and vocalist Keith Bonthrone. Lead guitarist Simon Dowling also contributes occasionally to the band when work commitments permit both live and in the studio.

THE MUSIC Throughout the bands history, Cold Flame have played in a variety of musical styles to suit all tastes and venues. Whilst often encompassing the blues - a reflection of their influences, the band has also presented audiences with elements of acoustic music, folk rock, jazz and music covering the full rock spectrum. Though the band has a wealth of original material some of which can be found on their album releases, Cold Flame are not averse to displaying their roots and influences in live performance choosing to play classic rock and blues material. In recent years the band has become more celtic in feel, specializing in playing the music of Jethro Tull. For the last decade Cold Flame have been widely acknowledged as one of the leading Tull tribute band in the UK and can be seen regularly performing an acclaimed two hour plus tribute show.
